Third Country Nationals

Dear readers: Welcome!

Here you will find important information you need to migrate to Germany from a third country (non-EU country) and to settle down in Germany.

We have set ourselves the goal of looking at the issue of migration from the point of view of migrants. We want to answer your questions and help you when you arrive in Germany.

As a migrant, you can contribute to the further development of this site. The more questions you ask, the better we'll be able to do our job. So get in touch with us if you have any questions or need help.

In addition, aid organizations with migration-related content should also receive help and answers from us. So please get in touch with us as well.

We are always looking for people who want to tell their story. Please contact us if you want to share your story with us and other people!

This page is currently under construction and will be available in several languages. The content will be gradually uploaded or updated. The site does not claim to be complete. We ask for your understanding. If your questions are not answered on this page, email us at info@gaanf.org. We will then get in touch with you.

Giving a new Perspective

The mentorship and legal support program includes individual support and support for the personal and professional development of the immigrated specialists.

This way we promote their rapid integration into the German labor market and their social environment.

In addition, you are informed about your rights and obligations as part of the Legal Support Program and are supported in all labor law and residence law procedures.

To emigrate to Germany

In Germany, all options for entering Germany legally and staying here are regulated in the Residence Act.

The English version of the legal text is somewhat outdated.

Unfortunately, the current version is only available in German. There are various reasons why you can get a residence permit.

Integration in Germany

There are many practical questions that arise in everyday life - renting, working, dealing with authorities, etc.

We will help you and have put together the most important information for you.

This information will help you to find your way around in Germany.

Special features for the entry of third-country nationals from Ukraine

The following is currently to be observed for third-country nationals entering Germany from Ukraine:

  • Foreigners who were in Ukraine on February 24, 2022 or up to 90 days before can enter the federal territory without a residence permit until May 31, 2023 and stay here for 90 days. Those affected are required to contact the responsible foreigners authority during the 90-day period in order to create the conditions for a possibly intended further stay in Germany.

As entry requirements can change quickly, we recommend consulting the official websites of the relevant authorities for up-to-date information.

Receive protection as a refugee in Germany

If you have fled Ukraine and are therefore catching up in Germany, or if you are currently fleeing from Ukraine to Germany, then slightly different rules apply to you than if you are fleeing from your home country to Germany. We are currently working on compiling all the important information for both variants. You can find out more on other help pages in advance:
